Mirela Nemțanu: „A manager who offers hope”
Mirela Nemțanu is a competent, empathetic manager who gradually developed her career towards a CEO level. She successfully combines her desire to help with excellent results, in such a field where all these mean more than market share or profit margin. Mirela has worked in various large organizations. Since 2016 she runs HOSPICE Casa Speranței, the largest foundation in Romania offering free palliative care for patients with incurable illnesses.
A few words about your career path
The corporate environment, programs attended, as well as my extensive marketing experience prepared me for my most important mission – running a medical foundation – a difficult mission which offers me huge satisfactions on a daily basis. People management brings many challenges in a field where experts have the highest degree of burnout. The same can be said about fundraising and direct relationship with patients. Like myself, the entire HOSPICE team is motivated by their inner desire to help.
In this regard, everything I learned while attending the Management 360 course is highly relevant for me. At HOSPICE, we don’t have corporate tools or systems, such as incentives or performant software. Understanding external environment, strategic approach, the big picture of an organization – all are highly useful for managing an NGO.
